Welding used to be just a fascination for me. That was during the time when I was still too busy with my work to be able to do anything else and put a lot of effort and attention to it. I don’t regret that fact though, since work was work and its importance can never be overestimated at all. So I put my focus on it back then, and when I already had the time to devote to learning welding, I certainly went for it. Acquiring a new skill such as welding is really a plus for someone like myself, who has not been much of a handyman in and around the home. That was mostly my fault, of course, but all of that would change once I learn welding and I become quite competent in doing it. And that was what actually happened.
I enthusiastically plunged myself into learning everything that I can about the process of welding and the different techniques involved in it. However, even as I learned all the major processes, I leaned towards one particular welding technique. That is Shielded metal Arc Welding (SMAW), or simply known as stick welding. It is reputedly the simplest of the different welding processes, a fact that I was able to verify immediately as I learned about it. What I found out was that it definitely provides versatility, as it presents a great option for joining different kinds of metals. It is also inexpensive and quite reliable.
