Welding is such a great hobby to learn. I was aware of that fact even before I was actually undergoing some training to become competent in it and achieve some level of competence. Perhaps that was brought about by my intense desire to learn it and to actually be good in it, which I have been envisioning for the past couple of years now. Having a few skills and abilities around the house has given me the interest to learn even more and become the complete handyman for the family. I already have my own little shop for my woodworking and carpentry hobby and I thought that it would be nice to do some other projects in there since it is a little spacious to hold some more tools.
I have so far learned a few of the main processes that are most commonly used. These are Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or also known as Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Stick Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding. These are the foremost processes that are used, and I went right on learning all of it. I found that I am most comfortable with the MIG Welding process however; I went about using it the most out of all the techniques. And I learned that there are also portable welders available, which only made me want to have one or two. Especially after I learned that the best portable welder is usually a MIG welder.
