My Search for the Best Aluminum Welder

I recently took up welding as a hobby and I must say that I already love it. It hasn’t occurred to me before how such a hobby could actually be quite useful, aside from the fact that it is enjoyable. The enjoyable part was why I took it up as a hobby in the first place, and I was really looking for some fun activity when I chanced upon welding. Well, I was actually taught by a friend, but only after my interest really picked up after I saw a video about welding online. It really caught my attention and I proceeded to learn everything I could about it, and then I also managed to convince my friend to teach me how to weld.

Welding Aluminum

Even though I have yet to master the art of welding, I consider it to be an art and will always do so; I have particularly become interested in the welding of aluminum. This was after I have been practicing with welding it and found that I am having difficult time with it. My efforts were either breaking or cracking, and in some cases it shriveled hideously, that even if I somehow managed to stick it together, the result was pitifully ugly. Looking at it as a challenge, I became determined to learn how to weld aluminum properly and even find out the best aluminum welder that I can find.

What I did was to do some research about welding aluminum, which was the best thing that I could do about it. From what I have read and learned from other welders, it seems that the best way to weld aluminum is through TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, although it can also be welded effectively through MIG or even through a gas torch. My conclusion is that it all boils down to a matter of preference, and what type of welding method you are most comfortable with. As far as the welder is concerned, the more features the better. And that is why I have listed down what I believe to be some of the best aluminum welders around:

• Hobart Welders 500424 – Tigmate AC/DC TIG Welder Kit with Finertip Control – Provides excellent adjustments of the output with the fingertip control. The AC and DC outputs are for different materials, with the AC meant for aluminum and the DC for stainless steel.

• Lincoln Precision TIG 225 Ready – Pak w/ Cart No. K2535 – 2 – The Precision TIG 225 presents you with a welder that is versatile enough to use in hobby work, serious fabrication, automotive jobs, and even for instruction. Its features include unmatched precision, pulse control, and the best auxiliary power available in its class.

• Miller Electric Mfg. Co Maxstar 150 STL TIG Welder, DC, 1-Phase, 5 – 150A – 907135017 – This welder is considered to be among the best in the industry because it presents maximum performance and portability in one of the most compact welding packages around. Its dependability also ranks it as one of the top TIG welders to come along recently. It is certainly a must have for welding hobbyists and professionals alike.
