A Search for the Best MIG Welder

So I’ve been delving into welding lately. It has come as a surprise to some friends, who never expected that I would ever get down and dirty with being some sort of handyman at home. Their image of me as an academic who only immerses himself in books, papers, and then even more books is quite far from someone who is wielding a welding rod and doing home welding projects. But it’s true, and I can’t be happier tat I have finally learned how to weld. At least now I can be proud to say tat I can do a few things around the house and also do it well. That is definitely a far cry for situations in the past where I can’t even be counted on to screw a light bulb on right.

The type of welding that I have learned is Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and which is also known as Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding. In some cases it is also known as Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding. What initially attracted me to it is the fact that it is an automatic or at times semi automatic process where shielding gas and consumable electrode are fed through a welding gun. Since it was an automatic process, I felt that it would be easier for someone like me who’s a newcomer to welding, and I was right. That’s why I am putting a premium on finding the best MIG Welder that I could.
